Sam watched quietly as the woman tearfully walked away from him. His mission this leap had been quite simple. He'd had to find a way to convince the woman that running off in the dead of night and marrying him was the wrong thing to do. That it would not only end up ruining her life but also the life of the child that would be conceived.

As Al had explained it to him, the man he'd leaped into would eventually be forced to leave the woman and the child. The child would grow up with a fear of being abandoned and, as a result, end up abandoning others. It hadn't taken much for Sam to convince the woman and he suspected that there wasn't a very strong bond between her and his host.

"Ok," Sam said, turning toward Al as soon as the woman was out of earshot. "You ever gonna tell me why the name Wojohowitz is so damned familiar? Or are you going to keep putting me off?"

"No, Sam. I'll tell you since you've done what you have to. The name is familiar because…." Before Al could complete the statement, Sam leaped.

Al let out a sigh once the scene around him faded to the Imaging Chamber. Honestly, he was happy and relieved that Sam had leaped before he'd had to explain that the man he'd leaped into was the father of Donna Elesee, the woman who'd left him at the altar.

When Sam had leaped into Wojohowitz, Al had been shocked. He'd been even more shocked with the prediction Ziggy gave him for the leap and he'd even been skeptical. The name of his host was familiar to Sam and Al had constantly had to keep hedging as to why. He knew if he told Sam, the younger man wouldn't be able to carry through on the leap. He wouldn't be able to do the thing that would, in the end, prevent Donna Elesee from ever being conceived.

It had to be what the entity that controlled the leaps wanted done, though, since Sam had leaped as soon as he'd convinced the woman that marriage wasn't in the cards for her and this man. From the information that Ziggy was spewing out at him, Barbara Elesee ended up marrying another man and they'd soon be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They had three children, two sons and a daughter. Ironically, this daughter was also named Donna but she hadn't gone on to study physics, meet Sam Beckett, and break his heart. Instead, she'd become a writer of children's literature, had married a completely different man and had three children of her own.

Al smiled as he walked out of the Imaging Chamber. When he'd first seen Ziggy's projections and realized what they meant, he'd thought he wouldn't be able to feel happy with the erasure of Donna, the Donna he'd known, from the world. Instead, as new memories flooded in from this new timeline, he realized how much happier Sam was without the inclusion of Donna Elesee in his life. "All's well that ends well," he said softly before returning the handlink to its place and going in search of Tina for a little late night entertainment.
